Stansted baggage scanner strike called off

Stansted baggage scanner strike called off
Updated 20 Aug 2013 @ 09:22
A Bank Holiday strike at Stansted has been called off after the baggage scanning staff involved in a dispute over pay reached an agreement with employers Mitie. GMB said its members had reached an agreement after talks between the two parties.

The dispute involving baggage scanners began in June this year when Mitie imposed pay cuts from June which included a cut in premium rates for night work and overtime by 3.5% and increased pay rates by 2%.

GMB said they were pleased Mitie had agreed to pay members what they had been asking for since October last year.

The strike had been due to take place over four days from 23 August.
